great work with the colors,i feel like you can view this piece with a positive perspective of freedom, yet a darker, uneasy feeling of being lost in a new world still looms around you.it fits perfectly. maybe you could probably use a bit more arrows or just enlarge the one you have, but that's a nitpick
i can see the improvement from last year, gotta say you've evolved quite alot from what im seeing

DevilRat responds:

That's something I notice dramatically. Free At Least is an opinion piece of a fast food joint I used to work where it was 14 hours a week, paid every two weeks ( which taxes taken out made it not worth having two, so I went to one ). The lack of arrows were sort of a way to convey there is stores in the back, but it was inspired heavily by the feeling at night time or starting to become dark just the calmness yet slight eerie feel to it. I am glad you actually look at my backlog. Hell I try to make my profile more manageable to go through via playlists... Which I am glad you actually nit picked.

The perspective in your review is a very different emotion from how I feel, and i am glad I got a reaction out of you for it. This work is heavily boosted for the sense i actually learned to use alpha transparency layers. I kind of change all of the time with use of layers. This artwork only used a few blend, the rest of it is alpha lock aka being the grasses, the vehicles, trashcan, door, the building in the back. The whole entire back drop is 100% that. The styling of how I color has changed dramatically....

I used to be fairly against the airbrush, but I came to a compromise with it recently when I view one of my favorite artists use it. Where I only use it temporarily, then switch to a texture brush.

There is no other drug for me than nitpicks and critism. I am addicted to that stuff. I find it crazy to see how much I have evolved in style and tone. My early stuff fairly simple. While my later stuff is either stylistic simple, digital paint aesthetic, or very much inspired by another artist. My early work is very blurry, but you can really see a gradual clarity of it.

great effects and dynamic pose, but i think some lighting parts on the coat could be a bit cleaner, rather then having a few spread
